Birthday Parties

Last weekend Tyler went to a little people birthday party. My friend Valerie, who I have been friends with since 1st grade, had a birthday party here in Topeka for her 3-year old son Brody. I hadn't seen Valerie for almost a year so we really wanted to go to the party to see how she was doing. Tyler played with new little friends. Several people from high school were there with their kids. So they all played together. Tyler enjoyed the inflatable bouncy thing. He wasn't the best at playing with other people at first. I don't think he liked so many people in it and especially people he didn't know. I''d be scared too! So he played in it by himself for a while and had lots of fun. Before we left Brody brought Tyler a goody bag and thanked him for coming to his party.

Then last night we had another birthday party to go to. Sarah, Tyler's big friend, turns 11 next weekend and had a party last evening. The girls loved playing with Haleigh but I think they had had enough of her by the time we left because she was so fussy all evening. She really is a high maintenance baby these days. So they were telling her how she was a 'Freedom Girl' in training. They were planning the shirt they would make for her. Freedom Girls is a small group bible study group for the 4th-6th grade girls at our church.
After we grilled, ate, played outside and chatted for a while we watched the first movie. Tyler looks like he's at a drive in. I think it was a Barbie car that he decided to sit on and watch the movie. He is quite a character but he died a FABULOUS job that evening.
He helped Sarah open her gifts. You know he is a pro because he just had a birthday where he opened many presents.
Then I think he was showing Aleesha how to do her homeowrk. He was a little distracted and wasn't real into Ms. Congeniality.
Just Tyler and the girls for the party. He just fits in real well don't you think? The girls really take care of Tyler and I think they enjoy having him around. He definitely liked being the center of attention. He had cake and ice cream with the rest of us and I'm pretty sure I should have said no because bed time turned out to be pretty ugly. Too much sugar I would think
Before we left he had to bounce on Pastor Tim's lap. A lot of times Jeff calls him Grandpa Tim. But whatever we call him Tyler loves him because he bounces him on his knee and will chase him and play with him.
It was a fun night and a good chance to be away from home even if Haleigh was fussy most of the night it was a break from being at home all the time. And Tyler has become quite the birthday party-er!
