A little bit of Martens': Hunting Easter Eggs

Mom thought I was crazy when I asked if she would go to the Governor's Easter egg hunt. I know she did. She laughed and said she guessed she would go. I was a little nervous and I really honestly expected the worst. I expected to maybe get a couple of eggs and to be super annoyed by all of the people. I was wrong. We got 2 baskets of eggs, lots of extra chocolate eggs and it really wasn't that bad. There were a lot of people, but when you go expecting chaos it wasn't as bad as I thought.

Tyler was so excited to see the elephant but then when we got close he was a little nervous.

He was excited when he found the eggs and he even picked up eggs to put in his sister's little basket. On the way back up there were people in places handing out extra candy and eggs. When they would ask Tyler if he wanted some he would go straight for the candy. He put the candy in his basket and the extra eggs in Haleigh's. Smart kid I guess. He loves his candy!

Haleigh had fun putting the eggs in her mouth. We played with eggs all week.

Then the next weekend. We went to the Easter egg hunt at the north community center. I was a little off on the time. We were an hour and a half early! Oops! Amanda and Paul went with us to hunt eggs. Tyler was SO excited for Paul to go with us. That's all he talked about for two days. Since we were so early Paul and Tyler played at the playground and then we sat and snacked on cheerios for a while at the picnic table. When we ran out of cheerios and needed a drink we went back and camped out in the car. Not the smartest thing to do with little people. But it was still fun.

And if she isn't the cutest little thing I ever did see...she loved being outside and we had to get her with her princess sweater and princess basket.

Again, Tyler really didn't know what to think of the larger than life bunny. He was very excited from afar but would barely give a high five when he came close.
