More Haleigh, more firsts

So I think it was actually a couple of weeks ago when these pictures were taken. Haleigh had her first cereal experience on the 15th of January. I tried so hard to wait until she was 5 months old. I'm really not sure why she was obviously ready before that. She would reach for food all the time, try to pull drinks out of your hands, and watch you like a hawk when you ate. But I guess it was me. I guess it was me that wasn't ready for her to begin her venture into real food. Its just one more step and one more thing that says loud and clear that she is growing up. I'm suck a sap. But nevertheless she was ready and excited. As I moved the spoon closer to her mouth I don't think she could really believe it was happening. So often I pull things away from her or even tease her and when the spoon finally touched her lips she was excited. She just licked her lips and licked her lips and then wanted to suck on the spoon. Mmmmm that was good. It was so good that she couldn't wait for it to get in her mouth and had to push it in before the spoon got there. She was definitely more graceful than Tyler was when he had cereal for the first time. She was messy, but not even comparable to Tyler. So obvious the differences between girls and boys.
I'm pretty sure in this picture she was looking at her brother who was ready and waiting to wipe off her mouth. He couldn't stand the food on her face and thought we would wipe it off. What a nice big brother. Anytime she spits up he is there with the burp rag ready to wipe off her face.
Yep he wiped her face off. He doesn't like messes. Well, I should really rephrase that...he doesn't like messes on her face!
She really concentrates on her next bite too. She can really focus. Well, this first was fun for us all and I'm sure there will be more fun when we start veggies and fruits. It is just hard to get kit though Tyler's 2-year-old head that she can't have other foods and that mommy and daddy are the only ones who can give Haleigh food. Earlier today I found a chip under her on the floor and Tyler was so proud. I definitely had a freak out moment and had to calmly tell him that Haleigh doesn't eat chips yet.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She absolutely loves her little Tigger bouncer thing. Tyler didn't like it so much when he was little, but she will stay in in for at least an hour sometimes. And every time she moves you hear Tiggers voice and 'bouncin's what Tiggers do best' Yes it definitely can get to you if you are in one of those moods when you haven't had a break for a long time. But you know what she loves it and I can get a minute to do the dishes so Tigger can talk about bouncin' all he wants!!
Would you ever think that this Tigger thing could be a serious danger? Oh yes you definitely would with Captain Ornery in the house. Today I turned around from doing the dishes because I heard Haleigh squeal. Oh I could have really flipped my lid. It may sound funny as you get the visual in your head, but know I really didn't think it was funny at the time. Okay I did think it was funny but I had to act like I didn't. (so hard. sor hard)
Okay so you know how when you were a kid on the play ground you loved to show off your strength and maybe even had competitions of who could do the best underdog on the swings. Yeah that is what I thought of when I turned around. Tyler may soon be the kid on the playground that you choose to give the best underdog!
When I turned around Haleigh was up above Tyler's head close to the fridge and Tyler was holding her up. He would hold her and swing her into the living room and back up above his head by the fridge. Oh I swear if that kid would have let go....
I don't think that the kitchen doorway is not the place to practice your underdog skills. Wow! This kid can think of anything I swear. I'm really not sure, I may have my hands totally full when Haleigh can hold her own. Will she be as strong-willed as Tyler or will she be the sweet little girl that I've always wanted? Only time will tell. Right now I"m saying she is sweet and I tell her every day that she is not going to be crazy like her big brother. Hopefully telling her everyday will make things easier on me when she is older. Maybe she'll start believing it and really act it out because she has heard it so much.
We can only hope...
