Don't I look so great! It seems that every time I get
pregnant we have to take on a huge remodeling project. When i was pregnant with Tyler we remodeled the basement. Now we are remodeling pretty much the whole upstairs. But at least this time my pregnant self can help a little bit. I was a pro at the wall paper removal for about
the first strip and then I started ripping chunks of the wall out! Oops! Yeah Jeff and Cliff didn't think that was too cool. I told Cliff I needed a hammer and I was sure that the wallpaper would come off then. They didn't think it was such a good idea and told me it was time to take a break. I think I was up on that ladder for at least 2 hours. That can really make a pregnant woman a little cranky you know.

Too bad you can't see the floor with
the ugly
cabinets with this picture. My kitchen was so dark it was almost depressing to be in there. I love to cook and love my kitchen (besides the cosmetic aspect) and have waited for 3 years to do something. I guess my dream has started to come true.

It was incredibly time consuming. Aunt
Cel (Jeff's aunt) helped out a ton along with Uncle Harold and Cousin Cliff. Jeff and
Cel were taking off all of the hinges to the cabinets. We painted the
cabinets and the hinges. Wow we are crazy!

3 years ago when we moved in to this house Cliff gave me the great idea of making this window you see here that went from the garage to the kitchen into a shelf. Why someone would leave this window from
the kitchen into the
junky garage you are trying to hide I have no idea. But I am sure that Cliff may not mention anything else to me again about the possibility of some kind of project because it will haunt him years down the road. Poor Cliff.

Time for the floor. This was supposed to be real easy but it has really turned out to be a little more time consuming and even frustrating at times. But the kitchen looks fabulous finished.
The cabinets were also time consuming but we got them finished in about 3 days. Well I should say we had them painted in that time but it took a little longer to put the doors up. I lived without doors for a little while. But it was all worth it, believe me.

Tricia came over later in the day on our Saturday work day. She was very excited and eager to help. She really had several jobs. Everyone kept giving her a job and she never got to finish one. However, she did learn something new. She was a little nervous about the 'power tool' but she became a pro. She was our hinge and door girl. She did a fabulous job.

Now you just have a little taste of what my kitchen has turned into. I"ll have finished pictures up soon. But for now you can know that my home really should have been on one of those home-makeover shows. It is a complete transformation. It changes everything about the kitchen having the ugly window made into shelves, the floor to light wood and the cabinets and walls painted a 'happy' color. No more old lady wallpaper borders. Its a brand new kitchen and a lot more up to date!
Thanks Givens'
