Trick or Treat

It's a whole new world when you have little ones. I'm not a real big Halloween fanatic to say the least. I think it is my least favorite holiday and I"m not really sure why. I think because many of the costumes and everything have become so evil. Jeff tells me that his kids aren't going to miss out on Halloween because I'm a baby. So, although I would never do that to them, we made a full day of trick or treating this year. And I will say that it WAS FUN! (I can handle day time trick or treating) Tyler was his favorite friend Pooh Bear. He loved to wear the costume. The weekend before Halloween Grandma Malloy took him to Boo at the Zoo and they had a full day of trick or treating and fun that day too. He liked to keep the hood on too which was a little strange to me. But he looked so cute and wanted to wear his costume even when it wasn't time to. And tell me she is not the most precious little pumpkin you ever saw. She did so well on Halloween too. She just rode in her snugli all day and slept for most of it and looked around for the rest. I really don't think she was fussy that day, which was amazing with all the running we did.
The morning was fulled with trick or treating around town. We ended up at the Fairlawn Plaza mall. We walked around all teh sores in the plaza. Tyler got the hang of it too. He knew you were to hold the bag up and say trick or treat. He can't say it but he knew what to say and how to do it. It was fun to see his eyes light up and just to see him being a big boy and walking up to the people by himself. It was a very busy day and we saw lots of costumes and lots of candy. We even went trick or treating at the pet store. Obviously we got a little distracted. Tyler had so much fun watching the puppies. And I guess I did too. I really hate to admit that. It really made us want a puppy again. Well for a split second anyway, then you think about it and you change your mind. But Tyler did love the puppies.
Then since we were on that side of town and it was way past lunch time we decided to stop at Daddy and Tyler's favorite pizza buffet. Welcome to CiCis!! Tyler even sampled the famous macaroni and cheese pizza!! Disgusting I know, but it is popular there. Only at Cici's! Haleigh had been put in and out of her car seat so many times, she had to be thinking 'please mom take me home!'
One more stop before nap time. Grams has been begging us to come stop by work for almost two years now. So we did. The people in her office knew all about us because I"m sure they hear stories all the time. The knew some of Tyler's tricks with sneaking up on people. It was fun to go see her at work and know the names of some of the people we hear about. Tyler went straight for the puppy chow when we walked in her office. He bypassed her and went to the snacks. And the little guy was worn out. It was time for a nap before another trip for trick or treating.
He wasn't in the greatest mood on this night. He ran away from his favorite friends Trevor. Trevor is one that Tyler always plays with at church. He has hung out with him since he was just a little guy. But tonite was not his night. I don't know if it was the hair, the sunglasses or if Tyler was just grumpy.

He didn't even want to give his little friend Elizabeth a hug. He was playing shy and was just showing her how cool it was to stand on the little slope in the gym.
He did get into the duck pond though. He picked his duck and won a prize and then he dried to get in with the ducks. It is a good thing they didn't have the pool again this year. I think he would have been in there. Nope not even daddy. He looks too weird. He clung to grandma like no body's business. He didn't want to have anything to do with him. Whenever anybody talked to Tyler he ran to get Grandma's hand. Not his mom's but his grandma's.
I tried to show Tyler that Daddy the Captain Smarty Pants was not scary, but he didn't care. I wondered how he got all those smarties on his pans. They used safety pins. Nice work Jeffrey.
He would stand next to Jeff if I was holding his hands but he still wasn't real sure about him. We had a fun night at the annual Hallelujah night at the Central Park Community Center. We stayed longer that I anticipated but we had fun and Tyler got more than enough candy. When given the choice though he chose a pencil! A pencil! He could have had chocolate and he chose a pencil two different times. Does this mean he is going to be smart?
Oh yes and the face painting. Aunt T was teh one painting faces and she talked him into letting her paint his face. I really wasn't sure he would let her. But he sat there as calm as could be and was leaning into her. I think it relaxed him or something. He got KU on one cheek and a basketball on the other. Daddy's little boy

Sister do you see my face paint? He was talking up a storm when we got home. He thinks he has to be in Haleigh's face all the time.l He was definitely wound up when we got home/ He must have gotten a second wind.
