Last time for a while

Last Friday was kind of our "last supper" kind of night. It was the last get together at our house with Amanda and everyone because she left for the cruise for 8 months. We meet up quite frequently at Jeff and I's house for dinner and family fun.

Usually our house is full on any given weekend. And sometimes Jeff and I don't know until hours before that everyone is coming over!

This night was planned by Amanda the day or so before and everyone came over for barbecue and then of course Tyler was the center of attention until it was time for bed. Tyler started walking two nights before so he was really practicing his walking skills on this night to cheers of everyone so he loved showing off.

Tyler's first steps were Wednesday night when his Grand Becky and Zontona were watching him while Jeff and I were at church. When we got home Tyler was up and playing and Grand Becky asked how long he had been walking. WHAT?! Jeff and I both thought she was being funny. Oh no he walked clear across the kitchen she said. Whoa! Yeah it was true the little guy was walking.

It really makes him seem so old when he walks across the room. He really isn't a baby anymore and it is hard for me to believe that last year he was only a month or so old and totally helpless. We were so excited when he walked and I called his Aunt Suzy (Amanda) I just said "get over here" So of course she came over and when she opened the door I said "okay Tyler go get Aunt Suzy" He just walked to here. You should have seen her face! That was what she wanted before she left. She said "He has to walk before I leave, I don't want to miss it"

He walked!! Yeah for Tyler!

And that night Tyler's Uncle Mike was doing funny things to him. I am not sure why they were doing this but as you see there is a ball inside Tyler's shirt. He really couldn't figure out what it was or how to get it out. But it really didn't stop him from walking all around with his little Pooh car. He loves playing with the ball now. He is getting really good at swatting it across the room. He plays swat ball instead of rolling the ball back and forth.

So needless to say, we had a great night of fun with Tyler and then reminiscing on things as we watched Amanda's slide show and then Jeff and I's wedding reception and Tyler's 1st days. (I'm not sure why the wedding and everything but we did it and we had a great time)

We are really blessed to have a family that is so close and really enjoys spending time together . We have indeed been blessed by the Lord. And I"m forever grateful for my family.
