Labor Day Weekend

Every year on Labor Day weekend we are at Grandma & Grandpa Malloy's to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. After Grandpa died the parties didn't stop and I don't know that they will because it is just something that we do. Grandpa loved us being out there and we love being there. Actually since Grandpa died the parties have gotten bigger and we invite both sides of the family for a fun day of barbecue and chatting and games.
When we were younger Grandpa always got the tractor out for us to ride with him and when we got older we could drive ourselves. that was a big deal! Now to start the tradition over again in another young life Jeff took Tyler around on the John Deer. Tyler loved it!
We hung out outside while we were grilling and being outside is one of Tyler's favorite places to be. Here Uncle Mike and I are holding Tyler down by the barn. He looks a little confused as to what is going on........maybe because he was sitting on a skinny little board and being way up in the air.
This is the swing Grandpa "built" us when we were little. We had tree swings on both sides. And let me tell you those ropes on that swing are VERY old. Tyler liked swinging with Paul and he would not let go of the ropes even when Paul was done swinging!
Now it is time to learn to play catch. Uncle Mike and Paul are determined that Tyler will catch the ball. We played this game for a while and Tyler even "caught" it a few times! Yeah Tyler he is bound to be a super star!
Oh do we love drinking out of a BIG cup. Anytime anyone has a drink Tyler thinks he needs some of it. And yes Grandma is a sucker for it. She is always sharing her drink with Tyler. She is even known to give him little pieces of ice. I think she may do this just to see the reaction on his face.
I think he is trying to decide if he wants the toy. He is very content hanging out with Auntie G!
Always has the tongue sticking out....where he got this I have no idea.
Tyler was having so much fun after the "party" was over. He would crawl into the kitchen, open some doors and drawers and then "run" out giggling. He has so much fun in the kitchen no matter whose it is. He can have things strung out all over the floor in no time at all!
And yes below is definitely a 9x13" baking dish. And yes the little man thinks it is a toy. It started out as a push toy and ended up as a mode of transportation. I think he recognized the shape or something because we push him around at home in a laundry basket. Little bit of difference but when he gets something in his mind he is going to do it!!

And so he did. He figured out how to sit in it and we had to push him around. This was one of those games we never should have started. He had so much fun being pushed around Great Grandma's house. Everyone took turns pushing him because this game can wear you out quickly!!

But needless to say, we had another fun day at the Malloy Funny Farm! Many adventures to be had each time you are there.

Hi Heather!!

Just wanted to let you know that I do check your blog quite frequently and I love that you write so much and post so many pictures. It helps me keep updated on you, Jeff and the little guy...who, by the way, is getting sooo big. He was so tiny at my wedding and now he's like this boy!

Take care, little friend. Loving you much!!
