1st Birthday Party

It is a little untimely as far as the date of this blog. But nevertheless I'm sure those of you who check this are ready and waiting for it.
Tyler's 1st Birthday was September 13th and we had a HUGE party on the 15th for him. It turned out to be tons of people ere. And let me just tell you I"m not really much of a planner as far as parties go, so at 1030 the nite before I realized I didn't have forks or cups. Probably a necessity at a party with cake! But then when people started coming and the house was completely full and you felt claustrophobic I though...oh my gosh I didn't really plan anything past people coming over I guess we should do the cake. So we had to move everyone outside to the front yard so people could see Tyler's reaction to his VERY OWN cake!! And yes I know people were glad we went outside so they didn't miss it! It was hilarious.
We gave him the little cake and as you can see...he dug in FACE first. No need to use your hands, just put your face in and start sucking!! He had frosting up his nose, all over his face and then eventually on his hands. Yes that was a site. He has never had that much sugar and he was enjoying every second of it. I eventually had to take the cake away because he had eaten more than 1/4 of it.
It was a fun filled day. A day of celebrate, a day spent with family and friends and a day we couldn't believe was here and passed. I have a 1-year-old son!! Oh my gosh. I know what parents talk about now when they say don't blink because time FLIES by. Yes I believe it now. And before I know it he'll be starting preschool. Oh that's too much for me, just too much. We'll enjoy every minute we have right now because every stage has been fun!!

To those of you who got Tyler toys. Thanks. Our living room is still full as we are still trying to figure out what to do with all of them and where to store some of them. He loves everything and gets a new toy out all the time. He really loves the books too. He plays with them just as much or more than everything else. You can frequently find Tyler in his room sitting by himself surrounded by his books.

One of his favorite gifts that is already half way gone is his HUGE box of Cheerios from Paul. What a perfect present for Tyler. This kid, like most, can put away the cheerios.
You can also see him posing on one of his 3 sets of wheels that he received. This one is the beloved Pooh-mobile that plays the Pooh song and has character talking. And yes he loves to play with this and he LOVES Pooh.
