more firsts and fun

Much has happened in Tyler's great adventure the last few days. He had his first teenage babysitter, his first bite of sweet corn, his first soda, his first tator tots, his first experience of a weekend long basketball tournament of daddy's, and even his first real banana!

Travis was the babysitter on last Thursday because Tyler's grand partens were doing their annual corn shuck and I was at Bible Study and Jeff was at work. So, that left good old Travis to watch his favorite little friend. Travis loves hanging out with Tyler and Tyler equally enjoys Travis. However, this day Tyler was teething and was a little fussy for Travis at times. But not to worry this good baby sitter still wants to come back. They played inside, outside and rode in the wagon, blew bubbles, had a bottle and some baby food. Much fun for the boys on this day. And don't they look like they are having so much fun in the pictures?

On Friday Mom and I went to Target for some shopping fun with Tyler. To keep him occupied we set mom's cup in the cart with Tyler. This is one of those mega cups you get at the hospital for water, only Mom fills hers with Coke Zero. Tyler was chewing on the huge straw for a while and then later he makes a face and some noise like "hey pay attention I did something cool!" So we watch him and he has small little drops and makes a hilarious face. It didn't take the little guy long to start sucking it down! This little guy loves him some good cold watered down Coke Zero!! (pictures will be added later)

Later was a trip to Sonic with Jeff and I and Tyler and Mom and Michael. Mom and I had gone to cardio-kick and the boys were at Rochester playing basketball all evening. We were all hungry and so we went to Sonic and ordered some hamburgers and tator tots. Once we got the order, even though Tyler had already eaten he was ready to eat again! He is much like his daddy and I fear that when he gets older he will eat us out of the house!! We are starting a savings for Tyler's food now! Anyway, he was eating bread off of our bun and the next thing I know his Grandma is giving him a tator tot!! What is she trying to do to this child? Coke Zero and tator tots?!? Well he ate a few bites of the inside of the tator tots and chowed on some bread. He will eat anything! (these pictures will also be added soon)

Tyler is also becoming much more adventurous. He pulls himself up on everything and one of his favorites is his the bathtub. He loves to stand up on the side of the bathtub and yell for the water to come out of the faucet. He will stand here for a long time talking to the water that should be coming out and slapping the side of the tub. Do you think he looks like he is ready for a bath?

He also likes to be curious outside. He loves to crawl all over the sidewalk and find things that he shouldn't be putting in his mouth. He is also working on saying Paul. He is working hard on his 'P' sound!

Tyler likes to put everything in his mouth as you can see he is ready to eat the spiky gumball that he found in the driveway. You have to watch the little guy close because he will eat anything. It doesn't' matter if it is a spiky gumball, a bug, grass or even dirt. You gotta keep your eye on him!

Tyler also had the opportunity to hang out with a couple of Jeff's friends that he has known since grade school.

Andy WIltz & his girlfriend Memorie were back from New York for a wedding and stopped to see us. And Matt Tinsley was here to hang out. Each time Andy comes back to Kansas the guys get together to hang out and reminisce on the same stories from grade school, junior high, high school and even post college. These guys can talk for hours upon hours of the mean and onery things they used to do together. Whatever they talk about we always have fun and enjoy the time we get to spend together. I think this is the first picture Tyler has gotten with Andy that he isn't crying or sleeping in! In one picture is Andy and Tyler and the other is Tinsley and Memorie. How I got a picture of Tinsley with Andy's girlfriend I don't know!
