Since I have been gone from blog world for nearly 2 months now I'll give a quick update on the things that you have all missed out on in our lives (seriously I'm not sure why people are so interested but nevertheless I will tell)
October:
* Ambulance trip to KU Medical Center--October 6th we went to the ER because Tyler got into his medicine that is child proof but not Tyler proof. We took him to Stormont-Vail and before we were there too long they came and asked if we preferred KU Medical Center or Children's Mercy. Holy Cow I think I almost went into shock or something. So within an hour or so the ambulance was there to take us to the Pediatric ICU at KU. I could really go into lots of details but I won't because it will take forever, but what you really need to know is that God was in it in every way, from the ride, to Jeff's sub, to Tyler's health to letting us stay with him in the PICU. It was an incredible journey and he is okay now and knows not to touch his medicine unless it is in his little medicine cup.
* We got a new fence in the backyard because Lucie kept getting out. It was a huge step for us because we have needed to do that for a long long time (like 4 years!) and we finally made the decision to do it. It is great to half half of the yard 'dog doo' free! A friend even put it in and saves us a LOT of money. Thank you God!
* Our house had been on the market and things happened that were not good so we eventually took it off the market. Sometimes you think you can trust a realtor and then they totally screw you over. Really you can't trust anyone when it involves money. Wow what a roller coaster ride. But we love our house now and are content where we are. We will wait until it is really time to move when the kids can't share a room anymore and we HAVE to have another bathroom because our Queen will need it more to get ready!! Until then we are here and enjoying it.
*Jeff and Dad took Tyler to Late Nite in the Phog at Allen Fieldhouse and he got to see Big Jay. Big Jay is Tyler's favorite and we have a book about him. They had a blast and Tyler even got a shirt from this memory-making event.
* Mom, Gian, Amanda and I had a girls night and went to the Matthew West Concert in KC. We had VIP passes and got our picture taken with him when he signed our CD's. We had a lot of fun and it was an incredible concert.
* Jeff had an MCC Alumni Basketball game in Manhattan. It was fun to go back there and a crazy thing about that was the way I felt sitting in the stands. It really felt like I was at home. I mean it was normal, well except for the facts that few of my friends were there. But we love going back to Manhattan. It is our favorite place and I loved living there. We are ridiculous when we go back because all we do is reminisce. We are such dorks!
* Sesame Street Live: When Elmo Grows UP: we took the kids to this and I mean they had some fun. It was precious to see their little faces light up and amazing at how universal Elmo is. There were so many cultures there and kids were all wanting Elmo. Any time he wasn't on stage you could hear the little voices in the crowd asking for Elmo. Haleigh and Tyler both loved it and I loved it that we were able to take them to it.
* Parent Teacher Conference: Tyler's first PT conference was also at the end of the month. Wow do I feel old. I didn't even know what to expect or anything. It just weirded both Jeff and I out that we were even going to a PT conference. Is he really old enough for this? But Tyler had a great report. Sometimes I wish the kid that they have in class was the kid I have at home all the time! I know many people have heard that lone before. Really I know he is a good kid but I really was surprised at how they praised him for different things that we definitely have a struggle with at home. Oh well, he does good and that what is important. They tell me there is something to be said if your kid behaves better in public than he does at home. I"m just not sure what that is!
* Neurologist Appointment: We went to another neurologist appointment at the end of the month and it was the conclusion of the Dr. that he would contact the Dr. in St. Louis personally so that Tyler could get into him. There was things going on with insurance and appointment times and everything and it was just a mess. However, I think it is worked out. Insurance will pay for it and the Dr. that Katz wanted us to see has an opening in his schedule in 2010. It seems like a long time away but I just am ready to figure out what we are going to do about Tyler's diagnosis. So pray that we figure something out. Or that Dr. Katz gets confirmation that what he had suggested for treatment is what the other Dr. suggests.
* Halloween: We went Halloween Alternative at the community center that Jeff was pretty much one of the leaders of. Tyler was Elmo and Haleigh was a Lady Bug. We had lots of fun and surprisingly we didn't get a lot of candy. They were more interested din the toys and running around and playing the games.
November
Really not a whole lot had gone on in November except for trips to Branson to see Amanda. I went for a few days at the beginning of November. Then I went again for a girls trip and then again with the family for Thanksgiving. Yes I have left my children for a total of 6 days this month. It must be some kind of record or something. But we had fun and had a fabulous Thanksgiving at Amanda's little apartment in Branson West. We watched her show a couple of times and with all of my trips I could pretty much tell you ever number and segment of the entire show. I love it I love it I love love love love love it. It is totally Christmas and this is the best time of year.
So basically what I'm trying to do with this update get some people back in the loop of the exciting life that we have and to hopefully get some pictures up here again soon. I really need to rededicate my life back to blogging again. I have regular readers who evidently have been very disappointed lately. It is not for lack of picture taking because I got a new pink camera from my father-in-law for my birthday. It is more for lack of a few minutes to myself without a toddler hanging on me and pushing buttons on the computer to totally screw thing s up.
So anyway I'm going to try to update a few more times than once a month.
Loves and Hugs to all-----pictures will hopefully come soon. (No dates and no promises!)
